109.07.31~109.08.01 深度踏訪埤圳，五感體驗USR; 聆聽老中壢體驗舊時光，創感知風土地圖
七月三十一 晴空萬里 陳其澎教授帶學生進行埤圳的地景閱讀，從城市到荒野，從桃園大圳到石門大圳。這是許多國際學生的第一次，用眼觀看、用耳聆聽、聞到林道和草間的氣味，也嚐到灌溉系統所孕育出來的美食佳餚，用心體會一場五感饗宴。 老師敘述著當飛機降落寶島初的窗外景色，一片片美麗的埤塘發光閃耀著，儼然像是鑲嵌在這片土地上的美麗水晶。這群來自不同國家的同學們，逐步理解埤圳對土地的重要性，不僅在以往產業中擔任重要角色，時代變遷下，也轉為日常重要的休閒空間。
午後抵達霄裡，學生們看見豐沛地下水源順應地勢湧現，一一走訪各具特色的浣衣池們，親近沁涼的水也讓同學暫時忘卻炎熱的天氣，與池中戲水的孩童同享舒爽的不言而喻，午後徐風吹來，踩著腳踏車從至德堂出發，沿霄裡路一路往霄裡大池，左側田園風光與右側老屋宗祠，回程伴隨水圳轟轟的流水聲，望著夕陽西下白鷺鷥急忙地在一片片秧苗田地中穿梭，讓體驗之旅就像走進桃花源般的夢幻。
Professor Chie-Peng Chen led students to read the ponds and canals landscape, from urban to wilderness, from Taoyuan irrigation systems to Shimen irrigation systems. It is the first time for many international students to view with eyes, to listen with ears, and to smell the order between the forest and grass, also to taste the delicacy breed by the irrigation systems, to experience a five senses feast.
Before the airplane landing in Taiwan, Professor narratived the various ponds views which are shining, just like a beautiful diamond mosaiced in the ground. Those students from the different countries gradually understood the importance of ponds and canals to the ground. It’s not only the important role in the past industries even after the time passing. It’s also become the important relaxation areas in nowadays.
When we arrived at XiaoLi in the afternoon, students saw the groundwater source emerged to the ground by terrain. When we visited every special ponds, the ice cold water also made us forget the hot weather temporarily. At the same time, we enjoyed the refreshing of self-evident with the children playing in the pond. With the blowing wind in the afternoon, we started our bicycle trip from Zhidetang, rode the bicycle along the XiaoLi road to the XiaoLi big pond. The farm view in the left side and the century old house in the right side were displayed in front of us. We came back with the ripple of the irrigation systems, and watched the egrets shuttling in the farm at the sunset time. It’s made the experience trip just like enter in the Utopia.
八月一日 風光明媚 從一座具有精雕細琢的三合院老屋開始，到溪流發展與都市樣貌的轉變，學生們跟著陳其澎教授與中壢五號倉庫藝文基地 夥伴杜彥穎老師的步伐，一步一腳印用觀察與手作，將中壢的時代痕跡烙印在心裡。 河東堂，從堂號、裝飾與磚牆疊法，由杜彥穎老師講述周圍的發展歷史，陳其澎教授細心補充著這座大院中精采的工法，利用斑駁的磚頭現場演示講述讓同學們記憶猶新。
老街溪豐沛的魚群與自在翱翔在水面的鳥，透過老街溪開蓋前的資料畫面比對，可見如今城市中的水岸生活是多麼珍貴與得來不易，更可發現水文化與這座城市密不可分的關係。 老產業新體驗，在彭元吉刀具行簡易的研磨組裝，來認識在農業時代鐵器的重要性，研磨磨擦出的火花也令人印象深刻。午後感知地圖繪製創作，每個人都繪出課程記憶深刻的部分，也讓人期待成果發表會上的分享。
Starting from an old house with a well-crafted triad courtyard, to the development of streams and the transformation of urban appearance, the students followed the steps of Professor Chie- Peng Chen and Instructor Du of Warehouse No. 5, step by step, using observation to know more about Chungli then branded in the students’ minds.
Through the introduction of the Hedong Hall, clan hall number, decoration and brick wall stacking method, Instructor Du described the surrounding development history. And also, Professor Chen described in detail the brilliant construction methods in this compound, and using mottled bricks to demonstrate to the students. All of them remained fresh in students’ memories.
By new experience in the old industry with simple grinding and assembling of Peng Yuanji’s Knife Store, we fully understood the importance of ironware in the agricultural age. At the same time, the sparks of grinding and friction were also impressive. In the afternoon, the creation of perceptual map drawing, everyone drew the memorable parts of the courses, and also made people look forward to sharing the results at the presentation.
